Anya Ewing is a nineteen-year-old artist currently attending the Maryland Instutite College of Art to obtain a major degree in Animation and a concentration in Creative Writing. Beside animation, her favored media of expression include illustration and costume construction. She vastly enjoys science fiction, debate, percussion, programming, role-playing and, apparently, speaking in the third person.
Why pursue the creation of art rather than spending a lifetime in pursuit of any of the other interests I indicated? Simply because I have become completely enraptured with the power of storytelling. Reading a quality book or graphic novel, viewing a film or animation, I am delighted to lose myself within the fabric of the universes they present, leaving our dingy reality behind for a fresh perspective.  If I could spend my life working as even just some small part of that storytelling process I could die happy – penning scripts, drawing concept art; modeling monsters or robots for sci-fi epics, even just being the indivdual who lights or textures them – any task would do. Ultimately, however, I would love to publish my own novel universes and someday have the opportunity to work as animator on their delicious audio-visual realization.
